the move

we're moving this weekend!! we still have a long list of things to do, but nothing that should prevent the transition. h's boss was very kind and is sending someone over today to clean the new house. i'm excited! clean sinks, showers, and tubs will be much appreciated. not much to report. we don't have too many boxes yet. we're hoping to just go room by room and pack/unpack most things as we go. we'll see.

an update on the guest bath. i picked out a new color from home depot, 'tate olive' and repainted. i like the new color much better than the original. it definitely reads olive/avocado rather than lime sherbet. :-) very happy with the change.

Daily Update 4/20/2011

Overall progress is good. We tried to hang blinds last night in the living room, but seem to have lost the brackets. Where could they be? We walked around both houses checking the obvious spots. We ended up moving on, guessing that the brackets will surface eventually. I honestly don't know where we would have put them. We moved all the blinds in one box, so it just doesn't seem logical that the brackets wouldn't have been in the box, too. Oh well. I'll chalk it up to paint primer.

Speaking of, paint is on the agenda for tonight. We're in the process of finishing up the baseboards and painting the kitchen cabinets. The kitchen cabinets probably need a few more coats, and we haven't yet started in the Master Bath. We would like to get the kitchen finished, so we can install the new flooring.

In other paint news. I chose a color from Glidden paint, Willowwisp (I think), for the guest bathroom. I had it color matched in Behr, and I hate the color! Its too sherbert shaded and neon. I think I would have preferred a deeper color, more olive. I had also been considering Celery Sticks, but I think it is probably also lighter than what I had envisioned. Now the question is, do I repaint? or just find a cute shower curtain and make it work?
